About

Elizabeth Becker is an artist based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Burnsville, North Carolina (near Asheville). She studied fine art at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, University of the Arts, and Millersville University, where she earned her BSE in Art Education and BA in Psychology.

Elizabeth works primarily in watercolor. She is drawn to the spontaneity and immediacy of this medium, which has taught her to become present in the moment, relinquish control and embrace imperfections. Her paintings are an exploration of emotion, the human condition and her spiritual connection to nature.

Emotional release and expressive experimentation with water are important to Elizabeth's process, as she works intuitively, allowing colors to bleed together and slowly bloom. Through evolving layers and abstractions, she hopes to capture the elusive, transcendent essence of her subjects. She believes the use of abstraction gets us closer to the way things truly are, not just how they appear.

“What makes Elizabeth Becker’s paintings unforgettable is the way they hold both delicacy and power.
She has learned when to let the medium lead and when to step in with intention,
creating works that resonate with clarity while retaining their sense of mystery.

Each piece feels like a revelation– gentle, layered and quietly profound.

With her ability to weave spirituality, psychology and nature into her luminous images,
Becker has established herself as one of the watercolour artists

whose work stays with us long after we looked away.

Her paintings are not just beautiful surfaces;
they are invitations to pause, to feel,
and to see the world through a more contemplative lens.”
